BlackBook Magazine

BlackBook Magazine has relaunched their website. This is great news, as they often have some really great articles. And even better is their series of BlackBook Lists, giving you the best places, whether it be restaurants, museums, or clubs, in a variety of cities across the country. Very nice relaunch indeed!

LaLaLand is an interesting cartoon to check out. Cole Gerst creates some great images, even though they are sometimes disconcerting...

TOP 40 MAGAZINE COVERS OF THE PAST 40 YEARS

The American Society of Magazine Editors recently released their TOP 40 MAGAZINE COVERS OF THE PAST 40 YEARS. There are some really interesting ones there...and some that definitely stand out on the, yes, stand. I wonder what covers the consumers would have chosen?

7th on Sale

Get great designer pieces at a discount on ebay. I know, ths is nothing new. But this time the clothes/etc. are all donated by the designers themselves for an AIDS/HIV benefit called 7th on Sale. The sale itself will run November 7th through to the 16th. Shopping is good, and shopping for a cause is even better!

Madonna Tagging

I am a huge Madonna fan, so I was excited by the launch of the Madonna Tagging Project. It's basically a database of Madonna photos from throughout the years. However, the cool part is that viewers can contribute any personal photos they might have. It is also interesting to note that Madonna now has a MySpace page (to promote her new album coming out on the 15th).

Jewish Women and the Feminist Revolution

Not only is the subject matter quite interesting, but this site is a cool representation of the emerging form: the on-line "art" exhibit. The "viewer" is taken through the exhibit in a choose-your-own-way manner, sort of like those "choose-your-adventure" books from the 80's. Very nice!

Frank Gehry & Fossil??

Another strange combination. But somehow it works! The famed modernist architect has designed a line of beautiful (and very cool) watches.

Lampe Berger

This thing is smart! It's like a small lamp base...but it releases yummy fragrance into the air. And, according to the site, the lamp also kills up to 68% of airborne bacteria, purifying the air. Wow! And it is purdy too.
